3-D Shapes

 We have been learning about 3-D Shapes in 5th Class. We made our own 3-D shapes from match-sticks. 

Spring Clean

 We enjoyed the sunshine yesterday while participating in the Green Schools Spring Clean.

The Burren

The children enjoyed a visit from the NPWS Outreach Education team, part of The National Parks & Wildlife Service.  The children learned about the flora and fauna of the Burren and were encouraged to ask questions relating to the topic. The talks were very informative and the children also got to have a close-up view and an opportunity to touch some of the preserved animals which are native to the Burren. The children created brochures on the Burren, encouraging people to visit the area.

Laughing Limericks!!!

 We have been writing some very funny Limericks in 5A in preparation for St.Patrick's Day!

The Eiffel Tower

 We have been learning about France in 5A. We constructed the Eiffel Tower out of cardboard as part of our art lesson. We did a fantastic job. Check out our Eiffel Towers. 

Martin Luther King

 We learned about Martin Luther King, his life, family, education, purpose and legacy. We did group projects on him. 

The Digestive System

 We have been learning about the Digestive System in Science. We created life size diagrams of the digestive system and labelled all the different organs. 

Cycle Right Programme

 We took part in the Cycle Right Programme in January. We learned about the rules of the road and practical cycle safety skills.

Marine Science!

 We took part in the Explorers Project with the Marine Science Institute. We completed artwork and projects on the squid. We e learned all about the squid and even got to dissect one. We did an experiment on the Flying Squid!
